Rajiv (Shahid Kapoor) is a college student who is the only single in his friends' group. Peer pressure leads him to lie to his childhood friend Payal (Amrita Rao) that he loves her. Payal who has always been silently in love with Rajiv, is ecstatic. Later the group plans a vacation to Alibaug. In the night, a drunk Rajiv tries to get physical with Payal and she slaps him, resulting in a breakup. Rajiv vows before his friends that one day, the most beautiful girl in the college will be his girlfriend, and everyone else will just burn in jealousy. He begins to woo Alisha (Shenaz Treasurywala), the newest entrant in college. In anger, Rajiv breaks up with Payal and swears that before she knows it he'll be with the prettiest girl in college. Payal is hurt and takes console in Rajiv's best friend who knows that Rajiv is wrong. New girl, Alisha, comes into the picture and she is indeed the prettiest girl of the college.
