A quintessentially British comedy-drama charting the complex racial and sexual tensions arising when the Cowboys, a struggling amateur soccer team from a poverty stricken metropolitan area, gain the sponsorship of a local Indian restaurant. The team are also offered the opportunity of employment at a factory being built nearby by a foreign industrial consortium; albeit their chance of work depends on their sporting prowess impressing the management sufficiently to secure them company team status. In the traditions of 'The Full Monty' and other similar gritty British comedies, the Cowboys maintain their quirky sense of humour against all odds. The plot develops into an affectionate homage to the genre of the 'Western' as the Cowboys and Indians are forced to co-operate to save the team and restaurant when they become embroiled in the activities of a gang of vicious local protection racketeers.
