Twenty-something life in San Francisco is simple, low risk and comfortable... Until Paul hears the news. Francesca - always adored but unattainable - is dead. Did the revolution die with her? "City on a Hill" tells two interconnected stories - one present, the other past. In the present, Paul tries to exorcise his grief while pursuing supposedly self-conscious Meredith, his print shop coworker. In the past, Francesca - an electric woman with a bullhorn and a mouthful of lofty protest slogans - sweeps infatuated Paul, jealous girlfriend Iris and everyone else they know into her absurd revolt against the state of modern politics. He knew Francesca captivated people then, but he's only now realizing how many...
