Coyote and Chomi are making it through this final decade of the century by patching together the last crumbs of a bygone era, against the backdrop of a weird, suburban world, with refineries belching fire, railway tracks crisscrossing the cityscape and the smell of the river right next door... Together, the young lovers recreate the universe and move the planets around the way others build houses of cards. All the while, Chomi the student, the future dropout, never loses sight of his ambition - the movies - while Coyote dreams of repopulating the earth with a child which she and her man will produce. The course of love does not run smoothly, however; jealousy, betrayal, little white lies and aborted departures have to be contended with. How will the pair survive?
