SANCTIFIED is a ruminative, stunned look at people devastated by their crimes. The story rises out of chaos in an ascending spiral, briefly appears to have a structure, and descends in the curve of a downward spiral toward fresh chaos. Lily, Stretch and Audrey are thrust into rendering the complexities of grief and remorse with clarity and vigor. Lily is subjected to tremendous and simultaneous hostility and remorse so absorbing that it becomes painful for her family to watch. Stretch has fallen into a dense fog. The acrid fog of his crime escapes him temporarily rendering him an emotionally volatile tableau of haze and confusion. Audrey's beauty and terror are the inextricable polarities of this story.
